One of the most prominent features of the 2012 Dodge Journey is the 8.4 inch Uconnect touchscreen media hub. According to Pieter Hogeveen, Dodge Brand Manager, it is an “infotainment system” that you can stream music through your Bluetooth while seeing the album art on the screen while you are listening to your tunes. The climate controls are adjusted through the infotainment center as well. You can even check movie times and gas prices. He explains that they try to feed as much useful information to the driver as they need through this center.
According to Hogeveen, phone pairing is easy to do through the Uconnect voice function, which has operable buttons on the steering wheel. Now that texting while driving is against the Ohio State Law, you can just simply press the Uconnect voice function on the wheel, speak who you would like to make a phone call to, and they are automatically dialed.
The vehicle is equipped with a navigation system that is so advanced that you can be directed to a specific street by just stating the street name.
The backup camera is accessed through the 8.4 inch screen. When you put the car in reverse, the screen changes so you can view the space behind your car. This is a great and convenient safety function.
When you start the Dodge Journey with the remote start, the car can sense the temperature outside, and it will automatically turn on the heat and the heated seats when it is cold, and the air conditioning in the summer.
For those Dodge Journey owners with passengers in the back seat, the vehicle is equipped with the rear seat Entertainment System that comes with a 9 inch flip-down screen. It can be controlled through the radio in the front as well as a remote control in the back. It also has wireless sound so that headphones can be used without the mess of cords.
