2016 Chrysler 300 Overview
Chrysler 300 Overview
The Chrysler 300 is a luxurious large sedan that manages to offer more high-end features than the average vehicle while still being much closer in price to non-luxury brands than premium ones. Because of this, the Chrysler 300 is a popular option for a family sedan with plenty of style and power.
Under the Hood
The standard engine under the hood of the Chrysler 200 is a 3.6-liter V6 that generates 292 horsepower and a torque of 260 pound-feet. Going with the sport-oriented 300S trim increases output slightly to 300 horsepower and 264 pound-feet. Every Chrysler 200 comes standard with an 8-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive with the option of all-wheel drive. This engine gives the Chrysler 200 a respectable 31 mpg on the highway and 23 mpg combined with rear-wheel drive, good numbers for the class.
Drivers who want a bit more power will want to upgrade to the 5.7-liter V8 engine, which is available on every version but the base, the 300 Limited. This engine comes with a drop in fuel economy to 19 mpg combined, but it puts you in control of 363 horsepower and 394 pound-feet of torque.
Available Trim Levels
The Chrysler 300 is available in four trims: the 300 Limited, the 300S, the 300C, and the 300 Platinum. Even the 300 Limited comes with the Uconnect 8.4A system complete with an 8.4-inch touchscreen, satellite radio, Bluetooth, Uconnect Access, satellite radio, Wi-Fi access, and more. It also has Keyless Enter ‘N Go and 8-way power adjustment for the leather-trimmed front seats. The 300S is sporty with performance seats and a performance suspension. It also adds a BeatsAudio Sound System.
The Chrysler 300C adds ventilation to the front seats and heating to the rear seats, along with leather and wood to the heated steering wheel. It also adds a dual-pane panoramic sunroof. The top-of-the-line 300 Platinum adds 19 speakers of premium Harman Kardon sound and HID headlamps.
Premium Interior Touches
In addition to the features already mentioned, the Chrysler 300 comes with many other premium touches. The Driver Information Display is customizable and located right by your analog instruments for easy views. The 7-inch digital display gives you information in real-time, such as the trip computer, system alerts, vehicle status, audio selection, performance data, and navigation if equipped.
Seating in all models truly feels like it belongs in a luxury brand thanks to the quality craftsmanship and leather with detailed stitch patterns. The front seats have at least 8-way power and 4-way power lumbar, and you can enjoy memory settings for the driver’s seat. For added convenience, these memory settings also include the radio presets and power exterior mirror positioning.
Safety
All Chrysler 300 models are ready to keep drivers and passengers safe with the ParkView Rear Back Up Camera featuring dynamic gridlines, Uconnect Access with telematics, and active head restraints. Higher trims can be configured with Advanced Brake Assist, Blind Spot Monitoring, Full-Speed Forward Collision Warning featuring Active Braking, Lane Keep Assist, the LaneSense Lane Departure Warning, and Rear Cross Path Detection.
