Key Features of the RAM TRX Truck

Here’s a look at some of the incredible features the RAM Truck TRX has to offer:

Engine

The RAM TRX is rumored to come with the brand’s beloved Hellcat engine. More specifically, a 6.2L V8 mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. It’s likely that this pairing will allow the truck to draw more than 700 horsepower and over 600 lb-ft of torque.

Exterior

These trucks are built to look as off-road capable as you’d expect. The TRX is expected to get a unique grille, blacked-out dual exhaust tips, tow hooks, and wide fenders. There’s also some speculation that the headlights could look similar to those on RAM’s Limited Black Appearance Package and that the truck will come with a mounted spare tire on the bed.

Towing and Payload

The towing and payload capacities for the TRX have yet to be released, but it’s likely that they’ll be similar to the Rebel’s ability to tow up to 12,750 lbs. and have a 2,300-lb. payload capacity.

Interior

Expect the interior of the RAM TRX to include everything you need for comfort, offering an excellent balance between the truck’s rugged off-road prowess and its ability to provide luxury. Inside, Alcantara leather upholstery, a console-mounted shifter, and noise-reducing insulation are possible additions to the new TRX.

Technology

The RAM TRX, if it picks up where the Rebel leaves off, should have a 12-inch touchscreen infotainment center with Wi-Fi, smartphone support, and navigation. Drivers are also expected to have a range of driver assistance features at their fingertips, too, like blind spot monitoring, guided parking assistance, and adaptive cruise control.

What Does the TRX Stand For?

The TRX is a play on the name of the most notorious, powerful dinosaur, the T. Rex. The moniker makes sense when you consider the Tyrannosaurus Rex and its relation to other dinosaurs, like the raptor, which, of course, RAM also uses as a name for one of its trucks.

RAM TRX models are known for power, off-roading capabilities, and an even higher-level performance than other RAM trucks have, making the TRX name fit quite well with everything these trucks have to offer.

How Much Does the RAM TRX Cost?

Experts in the industry believe the new RAM TRX will cost anywhere in the range of $50,000 to $75,000, a decent bump up from the cost of a non-TRX Rebel. However, the final pricing for 2021 models hasn’t yet been released by RAM.

These pricing estimates take into consideration the cost of the Raptor and Rebel, along with loaded features from packages that boost their price. The TRX will compete with these trucks in their loaded forms, which could very easily bring the cost over $70,000.
