Looking for a new car and don’t know which sedan you need or want? Chrysler conducted a comparison test to see how the Chrysler 200 and the ever popular Honda Accord match up to each other. The results were surprising. One might expect the two vehicles to be fairly comparable; however there was a clear victor in these tests. Read on to find out who the obvious champion is.
Acceleration
In an acceleration test, 0 to 60 miles per hour, it is a clear victory for the Chrysler 200 in its new available 283 horsepower Pentastar V6 engine. The test showed about a half a second advantage between the Chrysler 200 and the Honda Accord.
Breaking
When breaking from 60 miles per hour to zero, the Chrysler 200 has a clear advantage over the Honda Accord.
Emergency Lane Change Maneuver Test
Although the Honda Accord has been a benchmark in its class for years, the emergency lane change maneuver test proved that it does not keep pace with the newer Chrysler 200. The Chrysler 200 had a huge advantage at about 5 miles per hour over the Accord when changing lanes.
30 to 60 Test
In the real world 30 to 60 miles per hour test, they Chrysler 200 proved its better horsepower than the Accord. Additionally, it downshifts in response to your throttle input much faster. This clearly makes it quicker in this test.
Interior Noise Levels
When testing the interior noise levels at 60 miles per hour, the Honda Accord is clearly the louder vehicle. The Chrysler 200 is much quieter at 60 mph.
