Performance and Capability

The RAM 3500 and 4500, with their standard engines, are comparable in many aspects, but the 4500 far outshines the 3500 Regular Cab pickup in GVWR, payload, and towing capacity. These trucks are built for movement, despite a lower horsepower. 

The 3500 Chassis Cab makes for an excellent mid-tier option for those who don’t need as much hauling and towing power but want a slightly lower price tag. Both Chassis Cabs get the same amount of torque from the standard engine and available diesel option. When specifically equipped, the 3500’s max towing capacity hits almost 26,000 lbs, while the 4500 reaches almost 30,000 lbs.

Packages

The packages RAM offers for the 3500 pickup are generally focused more on appearance and convenience than those offered for the 3500 and 4500 Chassis Cab. For example, drivers can opt for an Chrome Appearance Group with exclusive chrome exterior styling elements and an equipment group with heated mirrors, front floor mats, and a rear sliding window.

The 3500 and 4500 Chassis Cabs can get the Heavy-Duty Snow Plow Prep Group, Towing Technology Group, and an Ambulance Prep Group with a 220-amp alternator and rear air conditioning and heating.

Pricing

Pricing for the 3500 Regular Cab pickup starts at $35,545 and can hit over $63,000 with high-end configurations. The 3500 Chassis Cab starts at $34,925, while the 4500 Chassis Cab pricing begins at $38,920. Higher-tier configurations of either Chassis Cab can bring the price close to $80,000.
