Hybridization

One of the changes to the 2019 RAM truck is the introduction of hybridization thanks to the Fiat Chrysler Automobiles eTorque system. This works instead of the alternator and is a combination of a generator and motor that sends energy to the truck’s 48-volt lithium-ion battery pack. This tech now comes standard on RAM 1500s with the Pentastar 3.6-liter V6 and is optional on the Hemi 5.7-liter V8. eTorque has stop/start capabilities for quicker and smoother starts and can deliver a small torque boost. The battery pack gets its power from regenerative braking.

Ram Trucks Reinvent the Tailgate

 

There is nothing that is so basic and simple that it can’t lend itself to being reinvented or improved upon, and the venerable pickup truck tailgate is no exception. Ram is taking a fresh look at tailgate technology and they have come up with a great new take. Their “Multi-Functional Tailgate” design has the potential to add a new level of convenience and functionality to pickup truck loading, unloading, and transporting.

 

Basically, they have designed a touchpad-actuated split tailgate whose sections can open independently, as either a traditional tailgate, or swing out like the rear doors on a traditional van. The two sections can also be opened together as a single tailgate.

2013 Dodge Challenger

The all-new 2013 RAM 1500 has yet again produced a vehicle with an impressive towing capacity. The V-6 is able to haul a whopping 6,500 pounds! This is 2,600 pounds more than the 2012 RAM 1500.

The new 3.6-liter V-6 engine comes standard on the SLT and high-efficiency HFE models. Not only does it provide 269 lb.-ft of torque, which is 13 percent more than its predecessor but it delivers 305 horsepower which is 42 percent more than the 2012.

One important powertrain improvement in the V-6 engine is the eight-speed TourqueFlite 8 automatic transmission. The improvements include smaller gear steps, smoother operations, double the gears, boosted drivability, and increased fuel efficiency.

Your new 2012 Dodge Ram Truck is equipped with a RamBox. The RamBox system is an integrated pick-up box storage and cargo management system. It contains of 3 features:
1) Integrated box side storage bins

• Located on both sides of the cargo box
• Provide weather-proof lockable storage
• Stores up to 150-lbs of evenly distributed cargo
• To open the storage bin, press and release the button on the lid. The bin lid will open upward for easy access
• The interior will automatically illuminate when opened (also has a manual on/off switch located at the rear of each bin)
• Can be locked using the auxiliary key
• Feature two removable drain plus to allow water to drain (to remove, pull up on the edge)
