- Comments Off on Dodge Dart: Electronic Stability Control
What is Electronic Stability Control? This is a feature of the all new 2013 Dodge Dart that monitors sensors in the steering column and passenger compartment. This is done to continually compare the steering action of the driver to the vehicle’s rotation around its vertical axis.
If the front end of a vehicle is under-steering, or not turning fast enough, ESC will automatically apply the inside rear brake. This is to help the vehicle achieve the turn that is desired.
When the rear end of the vehicle begins to fishtail or slide, ESC automatically engages the outside front brake. This is to correct any over-steering.
In addition to the braking, ESC may also reduce the engine power.

- Comments Off on Jeep Grand Cherokee: All About Traction
Originally, 4-wheel drive (FWD) was developed to ensure that all four wheels on a vehicle work to pull their weight for maximum efficiency.
But what is traction? Traction transfers the twisting force of the engine into vehicle movement.
Jeep has made sure that the Jeep Grand Cherokee exceeds expectations by making sure that all possible engine power is usable and is evenly distributed.
For optimal traction, the Jeep Grand Cherokee advanced and sophisticated electronic technology to measure, monitor, and control power delivery. This is in reference to the Selec-tract II or Quadra Drive II 4-wheel drive systems.
While these technologies help affect traction, the driver’s input also counts. On low-friction surfaces such as mud or sand, it is important to be sensitive to the throttle to prevent wheels [...]
