PART ONE

One of the most popular things to do with a Jeep Wrangler, or any other kind of Jeep, is to take it off-roading! While this can be fun, there are some tips and techniques to keep in mind to stay safe.

Before going off-road

Before going off-roading, always make sure to check your vehicle over. Make sure your battery is fastened, all hoses and belts are in good condition, and that oil and fluids are full (this includes fuel!). Next, make sure that all four tires are in good condition with proper tire pressure.

When in your vehicle, make sure to put your vehicle in 4-wheel-drive when you anticipate being in, or are in, a situation that will demand the additional traction. This is especially important because it is difficult to engage 4-wheel-drive after you are stuck.

PART TWO

Here are some more tips and techniques to keep in mind when off-roading in your Jeep. It can be fun and thrilling, but different terrains require different driving techniques. Keep these tips in mind and stay safe!

Hills

One of the first things to remember when driving on hills is to go straight up or down. Make sure to never drive up or down a hill at an angle because it may cause you to slide or roll the vehicle. When approaching the base of the hill, use more power and let up on the power as you draw near the top, before reaching the top. If you find that you have stalled when driving up a hill, put your vehicle in reverse and back straight down, while remembering to not apply a lot of pressure on the brakes. Going down hills in low range and first gear will help prevent your vehicle’s [...]

Many questions have been floating around about what certain indicators and symbols on the dashboard mean in the 2012 Chrysler 2012, specifically about the Tire Pressure Monitoring System, Change Oil Message, and Gas Cap Message.

Tire Pressure Monitoring System

One of the things that make the 2012 Chrysler 200 unique is the Tire Pressure Monitoring System. TPMS is an electronic system that is designed to measure the pressure inside the four road tires and alert the driver when the pressure is getting low. But what do you do when the indicator light comes on?

The TPMS light is located in the instrument cluster. It will turn on and a chime will sound if the pressure is low in one or more of the tires. Once the light is illuminated, one or more of your tires is underinflated and should be inflated to meet the recommended standards of the tire manufacturer. This information is located on [...]

What is Home Link?

Home Link replaces up to THREE remote controls or handheld transmitters, like garage door openers, motorized gates, lighting, and even home security systems. The buttons are located in the headliner or sun visor.

It is recommended that the battery be replaced in the handheld device(s) being programmed to Home Link for maximum efficiency. Additionally, Home Link is powered via your vehicle’s battery, so it does not require battery charge or replacement.

How do I program my remote controls to the Home Link buttons?

Before you can sync the Home Link buttons to your remote controls, you first must erase any pre-programed information. To do this, hold down the two outside buttons at the same time until the red buttons flashes. It may take up to 20 seconds.

When programming the system, your vehicle should be parked [...]

What was the most surprising about the 2012 Chrysler Town & Country was not the storage space or the entertainment system, but the 42 safety and technology features that come standard. Of course, there is comfort in knowing the Town & Country is equipped with supplemental side-curtain, advanced multistage front, and front seat-mounted side airbags, but the innovative technological safety features are even more impressive.

At one time or another, everyone has had trouble with blind spots, but the Blind Spot Monitoring is a radar technology that will alert you of proximity danger while you drive. An illuminated icon appears on the side view mirror (or you can choose to hear an audible warning) when another vehicle is next to you. Furthermore, the Rear Cross Path Detection will alert you of approaching low-speed vehicles when backing out of a parking spot. This is perfect for places like the grocery store parking lot on a busy [...]

Well, take a seat in it and you’ll know! I was impressed with this luxury sedan as soon as I opened the door. The first things that stood out to me, being a detail person, were the beautiful black leather seats that were accented with double-stitched white trim. After I adjusted the power seats, I used the integrated controls on the four-spoke steering wheel to choose a radio station via uconnect (touch screen media hub).

As soon as I left the Paul Sherry dealership parking lot, I drove about a quarter mile before I hit the railroad tracks. Normally, I would slow way down before driving over railroad tracks, but I wanted to see how the Chrysler 200 handled a bumpy and uneven surface – to my surprise, it handled beautifully and perfectly smooth. When I turned onto the access road to merge onto the highway, I took the “S” curve at full speed. The [...]

Not only will it get your kids to soccer practice and school safely and comfortably, but it will pamper you while doing so. From the Nappa leather-trimmed, heated front and second row seats, to the Parkview rear back-up camera, to the sunroof air deflector, every detail and feature of the 2012 Chrysler Town & Country will take you from Soccer Mom to Super Mom.

This not-so-average minivan comes fully equipped with the UConnect touch screen hub for all of your technology (including Bluetooth, voice command, WiFi internet, SIRIUS Satellite Radio, storage for your iPod files, and navigation GPS), radar technology of blind spot monitoring, one-touch power-folding third-row seats, and 42 safety features. You will keep your kids safe with the supplemental side-curtain air bags, door alerts and dual power sliding doors that are equipped with power liftgate with obstacle detection.

Who says Chrysler Group is only known for its trucks and SUVs?

The pending launch of the all-new 2013 Dodge Dart this quarter combined with amazing growth in our car sales — lead by the Chrysler 200 — means that the company’s reputation for trucks and SUVs will need to be reconsidered by many.

Chrysler Group’s March 2012 sales were again lead by our cars — with a 53% growth compared to March 2011 for a total of 51,514 sold.

And, which car is leading the charge?

It’s none other than the original Imported from Detroit star, the Chrysler 200.

For March, the Chrysler 200 was our #2 top seller with 14,914 sold — pretty good for a 121% increase over March 2011. That was easily the best-selling month in the 200’s relatively short life.

While we don’t officially give out specific retail sales numbers, we can say that March retail sales for the 200 [...]
